Description

Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese, all coated in a crispy breadcrumb layer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 ounces ham, diced
  • 4 ounces Swiss cheese, diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces, diced ham, and diced Swiss cheese. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, place the flour. In another shallow dish, add the beaten eggs. In a third shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Take a piece of the chicken mixture, form it into a small ball, and roll it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat with the remaining chicken mixture.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of cooking oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken bites in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the bites from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, bake the bites in a preheated oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Try adding different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for a unique flavor twist.
