- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a teaspoon of chocolate hazelnut spread in the center, then fold the dough around it to form a ball.
- Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of espresso powder to the dry ingredients.
- You can substitute the chocolate hazelnut spread with peanut butter or caramel for a different filling.
