A delicious and creamy Parmesan Crusted Chicken recipe topped with a rich garlic sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound total)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Set to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. -
Mix Coating:
In a shallow dish, combine Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. -
Prepare Egg Wash:
Beat eggs in a separate shallow dish. -
Bread the Chicken:
Dip chicken breasts in egg wash, then coat with breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture. Press to adhere. -
Sear Chicken:
In a skillet, heat olive oil + 1 tbsp butter over medium-high. Sear chicken 3–4 mins per side until golden. -
Bake Chicken:
Transfer to baking sheet. Bake 15–20 mins or until internal temp hits 165°F (74°C). -
Make Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Sauté garlic 1 min, then add cream, broth, and (optional) red pepper flakes. Simmer 5 mins to thicken. Season to taste. -
Serve:
Let chicken rest briefly. Plate with sauce drizzled over and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For a healthier option, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter sauce.
- Add sautéed spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the creamy garlic sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
