- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves, for serving
- Sliced tomatoes, for serving
- Sliced red onion, for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, green onions, teriyaki sauce, crushed pineapple, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray or a little oil.
- Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken patty on each bun, then top with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken patties in teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Substitute ground turkey or beef for the chicken for a different taste.
- You can also add cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking for a cheesy twist.
