Description

A simple and delicious bread recipe made with just two main ingredients: Greek yogurt and flour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. If using, add the honey and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Use a sharp knife to make a few shallow slashes on the top of the loaf for decoration and to help it rise evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a savory twist, add herbs like rosemary or thyme to the dough before baking.
  • You can also incorporate shredded cheese or diced olives for added flavor.
