Description
A simple and delicious bread recipe made with just two main ingredients: Greek yogurt and flour.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional for sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. If using, add the honey and mix well.
- Gradually add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Use a sharp knife to make a few shallow slashes on the top of the loaf for decoration and to help it rise evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a savory twist, add herbs like rosemary or thyme to the dough before baking.
- You can also incorporate shredded cheese or diced olives for added flavor.
