Description

A quick and delicious twist on classic chicken parmesan, this Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese combines tender chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey cheese between crispy sourdough bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Place one slice of sourdough bread in the skillet. Spoon the chicken mixture on top, spreading it evenly.
  4. Top with the second slice of sourdough bread. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
