Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
 - In a large mixing bowl, cream together room-temperature butter and light brown sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy and pale, about 2-3 minutes.
 - Add the first egg, vanilla extract, and salt to the creamed mixture, mixing well until fully combined.
 - Introduce the remaining eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until smooth and creamy.
 - Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour on low speed until just incorporated.
 - Gently fold in the mixed peel, candied fruits, glace cherries, and chopped dates with a spatula.
 - Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is lightly browned.
 - Once baked, cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
Ensure that butter and eggs are at room temperature for better mixing. Avoid overmixing when adding flour to keep the bars soft and chewy. Customize dried fruits as preferred.
