Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro chopped (optional)
  • 1 small jalapeño seeded and minced (optional)

Method
 

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired level of creaminess.
  3. Add the diced tomato, chopped onion, minced garlic, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
  4. If using, stir in the chopped cilantro and minced jalapeño for added flavor and heat.
  5. Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning and refrigerate until ready to serve.
