  2. Grease a round 9-inch cake pan with unsalted butter or cooking spray, then lightly dust it with flour.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. One at a time, add 2 large eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently just until combined.
  6. Pour in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir gently until evenly incorporated.
  7. Pour the cake batter into your prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  8. Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, sprinkle a light dusting of powdered sugar over the top.
