Ingredients
  

For the Tofu
  • 1 block High-Protein Tofu Use firm or extra-firm for best texture.
  • 1 cup Vegetable Broth Opt for low-sodium versions.
  • 2 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos Or Tamari/Soy Sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke Omit for a lighter taste.
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be used for less heat.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can elevate the taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional for spice.
For the Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Light Olive Oil Use another neutral oil if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegan Butter Can be replaced with olive oil.
For the Bread
  • 8 slices Bread Gluten-free options available.
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Spicy Tahini Sauce Substitute with another condiment if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Prepare a greased baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the tofu and pat it dry. Slice the tofu thinly using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together vegetable broth, Bragg's Liquid Aminos, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Marinate the tofu for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Arrange the tofu slices on the baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the tofu bakes, butter one side of each slice of bread. Grill the buttered side in a skillet, layering with baked tofu and spicy tahini sauce.
  6. Cook the assembled sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Serve hot.
