- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line the 9x13-inch pan with aluminum foil.
- Lay a single, even layer of saltine crackers across the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In a medium saucepan, combine butter and dark brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
- Remove from heat and pour the hot mixture over the saltine crackers.
- Bake for about 7 minutes until lightly golden.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let them melt for about 5 minutes.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
