Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm milk 110°F
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened (for honey butter)
  • 1/4 cup honey for honey butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional, for honey butter

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, melted butter, and honey.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  9. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  11. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. While the rolls are baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter, honey, and cinnamon in a bowl until smooth.
  13. Once the rolls are done, brush them with the honey butter while they are still warm.
  14. Serve warm or at room temperature.
