Step-by-Step Instructions for No-Knead Maple Oat Bread
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of rolled oats with 1.5 teaspoons of salt and ¼ cup of maple syrup. Pour in 1 cup of boiling water, stir gently, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in ¾ cup of cold water alongside 1.5 teaspoons of instant yeast. Gradually mix in 2.25 cups of whole wheat flour until a sticky, cohesive dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 2 to 3 hours until it doubles in size.
  4. Lightly oil your work surface, turn the dough out, and shape it into an oblong loaf. Place in a buttered loaf pan coated with oats.
  5. Cover the loaf pan and let the dough rise for 45 minutes to an hour until it puffs up significantly.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 45 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding.
