Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the browning sauce and liquid smoke, then rub over the brisket.
  3. In another bowl, combine the spice rub ingredients and coat the brisket.
  4. Position the brisket fat side up on a wire rack in a roasting pan.
  5. Bake the brisket for 3 to 4 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Wrap the brisket in butcher paper or aluminum foil and bake until it reaches 203°F (95°C), about 2 to 3 hours more.
  7. Let the brisket rest, wrapped, for about 1 hour before slicing.
