Mix well until smooth, then add the chicken thighs, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for enhanced flavors.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken thighs from the marinade and place them in the skillet, browning for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Add reserved marinade and sliced onions to the skillet over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally and allow onions to caramelize for about 5 minutes.
  4. Return browned chicken to the skillet, pour in chicken broth, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
