- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Place a generous tablespoon of the chicken mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough over the filling, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides as you go to seal the filling inside.
- Place the rolled pillows on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the pillows with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pillows are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix in some chopped fresh herbs like basil or chives into the filling.
- Substitute the chicken with cooked turkey or even sautéed vegetables for a vegetarian option.
